SUMMARY:Business and Government Forum: The Gig Economy and Transportation
DESCRIPTION:You are invited to the join us for our Business and Government forum regarding the Gig Economy and Transportation. \n\nGig Workers have become an integral part our of economy. We have changed the way we do business in different sectors and Gig Workers can help fill gaps where we have work shortages across the Commonwealth.\n\nLast year\, the Massachusetts Coalition for Independent Work (MICW) supported a proposed ballot question pertaining to the status of UBER\, Lyft\, and Instacart drivers. The question\, which would have guaranteed pay and access to benefits\, did not make it to the ballot despite the coalition's support from rideshare companies\, drivers and their business and community endorsers.\n\nThis is an opportunity to gain a better understanding of the issue and how it will affect businesses and residents alike.
