DESCRIPTION:The Diverse Professional Roundtable Educational Meeting welcomes diverse professionals of color to network and participate in professional development and educational opportunities from community leaders and others on topics of interest to this group.\n\n\n\nSpeaker: Nicole Obi\, President\, BECMA Black Economic Council\n\n\n\nNicole Obi is the President & CEO of the Black Economic Council of Massachusetts (BECMA)\, whose mission is to advance the economic well-being of Black businesses\, organizations\, and residents in Massachusetts through advocacy\, business and leadership development\, and strategic partnerships. Ms. Obi joined BECMA in 2020 as the Vice President of Member Experience & Engagement. She previously spent 12 years at Fidelity Investments\, parting ways with the firm as Vice President of Customer Strategy & Engagement in 2018. She was also CEO of her own strategic consulting firm\, Enterprise Advisors\, after co-founding two venture-backed start-up firms\n\nShe earned two master's degrees from MIT's Sloan School of Management and the Department of Urban Studies Planning.\n\nMs. Obi currently serves on several nonprofit boards and committees\, including GBH\, the Environment League of Massachusetts\, the Intensive Community program of the Boston Youth Symphony Orchestra\, Browning the Greenspace\, and the Women's Foundation of Boston\, as well as Longfellow Investment Management's Board of Advisors. She is also a member of the Boston Chapter of the Links\, Inc\n\n\n\n\nMISSION STATEMENT Diverse Professionals Roundtable (DPR) is a professional program of the Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce\, committed to the development of professional and personal relationships among leaders of racial and ethnic diversity in Central Massachusetts. The program serves as a resource for the vibrant business\, educational\, and civic community of Central Massachusetts on diversity-related issues critical to building inclusive organizations and peaceful communities. Through roundtable discussions and planned events targeted to advancing diversity and encouraging underrepresented emerging professionals\, DPR members grow and expand their influence and make a positive impact on the Worcester community.
