SUMMARY:How can robotics\, advanced imaging and AI shape the futre of surgery? - A Practice Point MedTech Lecture Series
DESCRIPTION:Join Practice Point's first in MedTech Series lecture from industry expert - Bill Peine\, PhD - VP of Surgical Research & Technology Leader of Robotics Development Center at Medtronic \n\n\n\nThe future of healthcare is poised for a transformative shift. Driven by the evolution of surgical robotics\, artificial intelligence\, and an interconnected ecosystem\, health practitioners will be empowered to make procedures more precise\, predictable\, and personalized. This presentation will explore: \n\n Robotics Revolution: Explore how endoluminal approaches and telesurgery are enhancing minimally invasive techniques and expanding global access to care.\n\n Advanced Imaging and Visualization: Discover how patient-specific models and new imaging modalities improve surgical navigation and allow surgeons to "see the unseen."\n\n AI-Driven Ecosystems: Understand how artificial intelligence is increasing surgical precision\, optimizing workflows\, and reducing complications through real-time data analysis.\n\n Integrated Surgical Platforms: Learn how the synergy between robotics\, imaging\, and AI is creating a more precise\, predictable\, and personalized future for surgical procedures.\n\n \n\nAs we continue to push the boundaries of MedTech innovation\, the growing synergy between these technologies will make procedures more safe\, more efficient\, and more accessible ultimately redefining surgical standards.\n\n \n\nSpeaker Bio\n\n Bill Peine leads the Robotic Technology Development Center at Medtronic\, where he brings together experts from around the globe to accelerate innovation and enterprise-wide robotic strategies. He also serves as the Vice President of Research and Technology for the Surgical Operating Unit\, fusing cutting-edge robotic-assisted technology and AI with groundbreaking surgical devices. Both roles enable him to deliver on his passion leading innovation across multi-disciplinary teams to develop breakthrough technologies and products that deliver better outcomes and improve people's lives. Before joining Medtronic\, Bill worked at several medical device startups and was a tenure track professor of Mechanical Engineering at Purdue University\, researching novel surgical robotic technology and algorithms for image-guided surgery. He received his Ph.D. in Engineering Sciences from Harvard University and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University.\n\n \nRegistration URL\n\nhttps://wpi.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_4HC8ONzW3StrnO6
