DESCRIPTION:Join us for the Power of Women (POW) luncheon event. \n\nPower of Women (POW) meets quarterly from 11:30am - 1:30 p.m.\n\nPOW luncheons feature guest speakers and networking opportunities.\n\n\n\nYou Belong in the Room: Dealing with Imposter Syndrome\n\n\n\nImposter syndrome is a common experience that affects around 70% of individuals at some point in their lives\, leading to feelings of inadequacy and self-doubt despite clear evidence of success. High-achieving individuals\, including students and professionals\, often grapple with fears of being exposed as frauds\, which can result in procrastination\, anxiety\, and missed opportunities. This workshop invites participants to explore the depths of imposter syndrome\, understand its impacts\, and learn practical strategies to overcome these challenges. Through introspection\, group activities\, and the introduction of the BREATHE technique\, attendees will gain tools to nurture authentic confidence and resilience. By fostering a supportive environment\, we aim to empower individuals to embrace their achievements and recognize that they truly belong in every room they enter.\n\n\n\n\n\nDr. Sheri-Ann McLean-Williams\, founder and CEO of McLean Coaching and Consulting\, leverages over 12 years of experience in coaching\, training\, and community development to empower individuals and organizations. Born and raised in Jamaica\, her passion for helping others ignited at an early age. Dr. McLean-Williams's expertise in team building\, leadership development\, and community engagement is enriched by her diverse background and work in both Jamaica and the US. Dr. McLean-Williams is also the author of the book "You Belong in the Room: Activating the Power of Self-Leadership" that focuses on how we can enhance our leadership skills.Outside of work\, she cherishes time with family\, church\, and community activities\, along with travel and writing.
