DESCRIPTION:Presented by Kevin Filchak\, Local Coordinator\, MEMA\n\n\n\n\n\nEVENT SPONSOR:\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\nSeminar Description\n\nEvery business\, regardless of size\, is at risk of being negatively impacted by disaster. COVID-19 highlighted that reality and showed the need for all businesses to have plans and training in place to mitigate\, prepare for\, respond to\, and recover from all hazards. This seminar is designed to teach business leaders and managers how to think about how all types of hazards can impact their business\, and then the planning and training cycle to mitigate the risk of those hazards. It is designed specifically for business leaders and does not require prior emergency knowledge.\n\n\n\nZoom meeting details will be available for those who are not able to attend in person.\n\n \n\nKevin Filchak has worked in local and state government for the past ten years. During that time\, he worked as an Economic Development Coordinator in Worcester County\, working directly with local businesses\, the Worcester Chamber of Commerce\, and Discover Central Mass for several years. Mr. Filchak also spent time working as an Emergency Management Director/Coordinator first in Connecticut and then in Worcester County. Currently\, he serves as a Local Coordinator for the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency (MEMA)\, specifically supporting southern Worcester County. Kevin also holds a Master's in Public Administration (MPA) from the University of Connecticut.
